Suffering from a self-inflicted state of being rusty at posting, I’ll keep this short and sweet. The other day I was dropping off one of my boys at the bus, and asked him what was going on at school today. He informed me it was Cobra day, though it took me half a second to hear that clearly. This fact becomes important later on. See, Cobras are the school sports teams.
I was kinda shocked that he didn’t look the celebratory part. Where was his Cobra’s shirt? His face paint? As we waited a drew a quick concept of what I figured his face makeup should look like. He grinned, passed it back, then asked me if I could draw a Cobra.
At this point I go back to not hearing clearly. My brain likes to take all sorts of left turns, being left-handed. So when I first heard “Cobra”, I heard “Cow Bra” in my mind’s eye at the same time. So I quickly drew him a Cow Bra logo first, had him review (with a laugh), then drew the cartoony snake.
But what a name, eh? I’m challenging people out there who control sports team branding and team name decision making… be the first to steal my name and logo! Go Cow Bras Go!
